Course Overview

The GWO Fire Awareness course is a mandatory safety certification for personnel working in the onshore and offshore wind industry.

Developed by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO), this course equips delegates with the knowledge and practical skills to prevent, detect, and respond to fire incidents in wind turbine and remote working environments.

GWO Fire Awareness is required by wind turbine manufacturers, operators, and contractors and forms a core module of GWO Basic Safety Training (BST).

Prerequisites

To attend GWO Fire Awarness training, delegates must:
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be registered in the WINDA database
  • Be medically fit to participate in practical exercises
  • Have no conditions that prevent safe engagement in practical fire scenarios
